Certainly we as Dutch people cannot ignore it. This wonderful Dutch piece of culture is a beautiful and unique product. Not only because there are so many different types of cheese, but also because there is a suitable cheese for every occasion. The Dutch eat it in thin slices on bread, but also in cubes on a snack board. While in Italy, France and Spain people eat cheese as a festive ending to the meal.

Dutch cheeses

As mentioned, there are countless types of cheese. It will probably not surprise you that Dutch cheeses are widely present in our range. This is how the range of Zuivelhoeve characterized by our own Zuivelhoeve Sublime cheese. Zuivelhoeve cheese is shelf-aged natural cheese. In addition, the Zuivelhoeve cheeses made from the principle: Care for Dairy. This stands for sustainable entrepreneurship and means a good balance throughout the entire chain. The milk comes from cows that graze outside, in other words our pasture cows. Our farmers receive a fair price for their milk. We also pay attention to the landscape in which our farmers work and live. This is a continuous process with the emphasis on the indicators that are most important for Dutch dairy farming: dierenwell-being, labour, landscape value, energy and climate. Zuivelhoeve has the ambition to offer the tastiest and most sustainable cheese. With care for dairy Zuivelhoeve an important step to improve the chain from cow to cheese.

Foreign cheeses

In addition to the delicious Dutch cheeses, we also have more than enough of the tastiest foreign cheeses in our range. The Netherlands is not the only country where this delicious delicacy can be obtained. To give you a better idea, we have listed our favorites for you:

  • France: The cream brie or camembert - is a popular cheese from France, but there are also other beautiful cheeses from France. To stay in the camembert atmosphere, we introduce the Camembert Calvados – a delicious camembert made from raw cow's milk and the Chevre Florette, a mild but very tasty goat brie. The Brie de Meaux is also a traditional variant of the well-known cream Brie due to its spicy & robust taste.
  • Belgium: Our ZuidOur neighbors aren't even that crazy when it comes to cheeses. Chevre Buche goat's cheese in particular offers delicious varieties: matured, fresh and honey. For someone who likes an edge, the Merlijn Chevre is a fantastic addition to the cheese board. They also know how to make delicious cow's milk cheeses. The Trappist cheese Chimay Poteaupré, which is made in the Scourmont Abbey, tastes delicious with a Belgian Trappist beer.
  • Italy: Italy is known for its refined fashion taste, but they also enjoy cheese. When you say pasta, you often say Parmesan. Our robust & spicy Parmigiano Reggiano is the Parmesan as Parmesan should be. Delicious in pasta, but also with a bottle of strong wine, just like the Pecorino Romano washed in sea water. The Italians can also build delicious salads with their mozzarella or even creamier with the burrata.
