French brie

Brie is the most famous French white mold cheese. Brie owes its name to its origins. Brie was originally made in the historic French region of Brie, better known today as the Seine-et-Marne department. Everyone has tasted this French cheese. Brie is nice and creamy and has a distinctly mild and fragrant taste. As a result, brie is loved by a large audience.

(Cream) brie

The most famous and most common type of brie is the traditional (cream) brie. It is made from pasteurized cow's milk. This makes this brie also suitable for pregnant women. The brie ripens for 3 to 8 weeks, depending on the variety. The riper the brie, the smoother the structure and the stronger the taste. Brie tastes best when it's warmed up. Therefore, remove the brie from the refrigerator half an hour before serving.

Brie de Meaux

Brie de meaux is made in the vicinity of the French town of Meaux, ten zuidoostand from Paris. It is one of the two types of brie that has the AOP/AOC quality mark. A cheese may only bear this label if production, processing and preparation takes place within a specific geographical area. The method of preparation is recognized and is strictly controlled. This ensures a constant quality of the brie de meaux. Brie de meaux is a raw milk brie; this ensures a full flavor. Brie de meaux is traditionally aged on straw mats, which is also reflected in the texture of the rind.
